Brandon Davis takes PBR Velocity Tour Hampton Classic
Arkansas native earns first Velocity victory Saturday night
Brandon Davis captured his
first Professional Bull Riders (PBR) Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour
(RVT) event victory Saturday night with a total score of 171 points
inside Hampton Coliseum.
Davis went 2-for-2 and earned $6,550 after riding Awesome Sauce (Cornwall Bucking Bulls) for 84.5 points in Round 1 and Double Trouble (J Bar W Ranch) for 86.5 points in the championship round.
With the win, Davis earned 80 points toward the PBR world standings and an invitation to the Built Ford Tough Series’ Ak-Chin Invitational in Glendale, Arizona, Mar. 25-26.
Alex Marcillio earned his seventh Top 10
finish of the season when he took second place with a total score of
168.5 points. Last week’s winner of the Worcester Challenge, Emilio Resende (88.5 points), PBR veteran J.W. Harris (87.5 points), and 2016 Australia Champion Cody Heffernan (87
points) rounded out the Top 5. Marcillio earned 50 world standings
points, while Resende picked up 30 world points for the third-place
finish.
Harris banked 20 world points for finishing fourth
and Heffernan notched 15 points toward the world standings for finishing
fifth.
There was a three-way tie for high marked bull with a score of 43.5 points. Gypsy Wind (J Bar Ranch) earned the score in Round 1 when he helped Emilio Resende achieve his third place finish. Mud Duck (Cornwell Bucking Bulls) gained the score throwing Resende in the championship round. Showdown (Rockin S Ranch/Cornwell Bucking Bulls) tacked his score on the board in the championship round, bucking Ricky Aguiar in 2.24 seconds.
The Hampton Challenge was the 15th
event of the 2017 Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour. The Velocity
Tour, next heads to Bangor, Maine, Mar. 11-12 for the Bangor Buck Off.
