2016 World Finals Event Winner Looks to Punctuate Historic Career with 2020 World Championship Ryan Dirteater an eleven-time PBR World Finals qualifier and 2016 World Finals event winner, has announced that he will retire from professional bull riding at the conclusion of the 2020 season. With the goal of capturing his career-first PBR World Championship in 2020, Dirteater’s accomplished career of more than 14 years will come to a conclusion on Nov. 4-8 in Las Vegas at the end of the 2020 PBR Unleash The Beast World Finals inside T-Mobile Arena.  “I always have said I would ride until I am 30. and I will be 31 in April,” Dirteater explained. “It’s been great.     CHRB to face lawsuit over Justify's drug positive  A lawsuit is expected to be filed against the California Horse Racing Board next week by owner Mick Ruis seeking the disqualification of Triple Crown winner Justify from the 2018 Santa Anita Derby (G1) for a failed post-race drug test.  According to tweets from Eclipse Award-winning journalist Jeremy Balan of BetAmerica , the suit will allege the CHRB failed to follow its “statutory duty” when it did not seek penalties after Justify tested positive for scopolamine. Under the rules in place at the time, a failed test for the substance would have required disqualification and the redistribution of purse money. WCRA WINTER TIMED EVENT SEMI-FINALS PAYS OUT MORE THAN $394,000 TO ATHLETES IN THREE DAYS -- Nine athletes from each discipline advance to Royal City Roundup-- More than $394,000 was paid out to timed-event athletes this week as the World Champions Rodeo Alliance  (WCRA) concluded its Winter Timed Event Semi-Finals at the Lazy E Arena. The three-day event hosted 320 cowboys and cowgirls from around the globe and advanced 54 timed-event athletes to the Royal City Roundup, a one-day,  $1 Million Major Rodeo, which will be held February 28 at the Sprint Center in Kansas City, Missouri. The event began with 64 athletes seeded in the preliminary round, with 24 advancing to the progressive round where they met eight contestants seeded from the WCRA Leaderboard. The final round consisted of 16 total athletes (eight from the leaderboard and eight from the progressive round), with the top eight times in the round and the number one from the WCRA Leaderboard in each discipline adv
