Oklahoma’s Finest Head to Enid for Inaugural Battle on the Plains CBR Bull Riding

Joe Frost, second cousin of the late World Champion Bull Rider Lane Frost returns to Championship Bull Riding for the first annual Battle on the Plains on Saturday, January 7, 2017 at the Central National Bank Center at 8 pm. The event is the first stop in 2017 of the CBR’s twelve month nationally televised Road to Cheyenne professional bull riding tour.
Frost, a the three time National Finals Rodeo (NFR)qualifier and 2015 CBR event champion and World Finals qualifier rode four years for Oklahoma’s Panhandle State and now makes his home in Oklahoma. Frost has won $418,020.00 in the Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) as professional cowboy and finished fourth in the 2016 PRCA’s World Standings.
In 2010, twenty nine years after Lane Frost won the National High School bull riding championship, Joe Frost, son of Lane’s Cousin Shane, won the title and moved to Oklahoma for his college turned pro bull riding career.

Oklahoma is bursting with successful professional cowboys and in addition to Frost, four other bull riders who call Oklahoma home and are making their way to Enid this week to represent the Sooner State on the CBR roster. They are three time PRCA and reigning CBR World Champion Sage Kimzey from Strong City; Colton Jesse, Konawa; Wyatt Rogers, Rose; Lane Toon, Smithville; and Mickey Andrews, Weatherford.
Oklahoma State University will be represented by Famous Energy Bullfighter Schell Apple of Fay, Oklahoma. Apple, a former Bullfighters Only World Champion, is a student at OSU and is a professional bull fighter on the CBR’s televised Road to Cheyenne tour.

Four time World Champion and CBR Chute boss Tuff Hedeman has been producing top rated events for over 30 years and has pulled out all the stops for the CBR’s first trip to Enid. Ticket holders can look forward to a great night as CBR has recruited some of the industry’s leading entertainment including 2010 NFR Barrel man, Robbie Hodges and the Get Famous Energy Bullfighters who will be signing autographs in the lobby before the show.
