Hall of Fame Induction Weekend Slated for July 15-17

  The ProRodeo Hall of Fame Class of 2020 Induction Weekend will be July 15-17 and run in conjunction with the Pikes Peak or Bust Rodeo in Colorado Springs, Colo., the ProRodeo Hall of Fame and Museum of the American Cowboy announced April 28. The induction ceremony – honoring Cody Ohl, Grated Coconut, Jim Sutton Jr., Sunni Deb Backstrom, Randy Witte, the Ellensburg Rodeo and Martha Josey – will be Saturday, July 17. The golf tournament, a fundraiser for the Hall of Fame, will kick off the weekend at Cheyenne Shadows Golf Course on Thursday, July 15, while the Cowboy Ball will be Friday, July 16. The Class of 2020 was named last year, but because of restrictions surrounding the COVID-19 pandemic, inductions were postponed.     Triple Crown of Rodeo to Air on CBS Television Network   The WCRA (World Champions Rodeo Alliance) in partnership with Days of ’47 Cowboy Games and Rodeo (DO47) is excited to announce the format and payout for the 2021 event. The DO47 will play host to the second stop of the WCRA’s Triple Crown of Rodeo (TCR) during the 2021 series and will have a payout $562,500.   2021 Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association Cattle Raisers Convention & Expo Internship  The Texas & Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association is accepting applications for the 2021 Cattle Raisers Convention & Expo internship held July 23-25, 2021.  The convention internship allows students to gain experience and knowledge in the beef cattle industry while making connections with some of the industry’s highest leaders.  The experience allows students to get a behind-the-scenes look of hosting an event for the largest agricultural trade association in Texas.  General Responsibilities   • Assist TSCRA staff with a variety of meetings and events at the convention and expo. NRCHA Extends Special Qualifying Requirements for 2022 Celebration of Champions

                     * * PRESS RELEASE * * In 2020, with so many National Reined Cow Horse Association members impacted by the COVID-19 travel restrictions, the Board of Directors allowed for special qualifying requirements for competitors at the 2021 Celebration of Champions World Show.  During their March 2021 meeting, the Board voted to extend those special requirements through the 2021 year for the 2022 Celebration of Champions. In order to be eligible to compete in the NRCHA World Show that is scheduled for February 10-19, 2022, exhibitors must have shown in three NRCHA sanctioned shows and/or complete the year-end standings of their NRCHA Region in the top 20. The British actress Helen McCrory, has passed away.

  The British actress Helen McCrory who I watched recently on Peaky Blinders plays the character Polly Gray, has died. Her husband Damian Lewis announced on today. She has lost her battle with cancer at only 52 years young. “I’m heartbroken to announce that after a heroic battle with cancer, the beautiful and mighty woman that is Helen McCrory has died peacefully at home, surrounded by a wave of love from friends and family. She died as she lived. Fearlessly. God we love her and know how lucky we are to have had her in our lives. She blazed so brightly. Go now, Little One, into the air, and thank you,” Damian Lewis wrote on Twitter on Friday. She studied acting at the Drama Centre in London England and in 1994 she mad her film acting debut in Interview with The Vampire.   COLLEGIATE RANCH HORSE CHAMPIONSHIP IN AMARILLO TX College students from 12 colleges and universities will head to Amarillo, Texas, April 23-24 for their chance to win one of two 20-foot Hughes Horse Trailers at the inaugural National Ranch and Stock Horse Alliance (NRSHA) Collegiate Championship. Riders will compete in Cow Work, Reining, Ranch Trail and Ranch Riding in a two go-round format to determine the best in the nation on both a team and individual basis. Ranch horse competitions are one of the fastest growing segments of the equine industry,  and NRSHA is proud to offer the opportunity to showcase collegiate ranch horse teams.  “After the turbulence of the last year, our team is really looking forward to traveling and sharing in competitive fellowship with other schools.
