Kaique Pacheco Dominates PBR 15/15 Bucking Battle at Sacramento’s Golden 1 Center

In front of a sold-out crowd, 2015 PBR (Professional Bull Riders) Rookie of the Year Kaique Pacheco (Itatiba, Brazil) rode his way to another victory in the second 15/15 Bucking Battle of the early 2018 season at The 25th PBR: Unleash The Beast, Wrangler Long Live Cowboys Classic at Golden 1 Center in Sacramento.

Pacheco rode Jack Shot (D&H Cattle Company/David Huffman) for 88.5 points to win the special round of competition. It’s the second time Pacheco has conquered the bovine at the PBR’s top level of competition, scoring 86 points on the bull in April 2017 in Billings, Montana.

The 23-year-old earned the only qualified ride of Saturday night’s 15/15, securing him 150 points toward the PBR world standings along with $7,000. The young gun has won both 15/15 Bucking Battles so far this season after taking the win in the season-opener at Madison Square Garden in early January.

Earlier in the evening, Emilio Resende (Santa Helena Do Goias, Brazil) rode Shelley’s Gangster (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve) for 88 points to win Round 2 in California’s capital city. The ride earned him 100 points toward the world standings along with a paycheck of $3,580.

2017 PBR World Champion Jess Lockwood (Volborg, Montana) finished in third place in Round 2 after an 87.25-point trip aboard Relentless (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Heald Pro Bulls). Lockwood earned 50 points toward the world standings as well as $2,000 on Saturday night.

2012 PRCA champion Cody Teel also earned points in the round when he covered Element 79 (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/Clay Struve/Heald Pro Bulls) for 87 points. Teel secured 40 points toward the world standings and $1,300 for placing fourth.

Stetson Lawrence (Williston, North Dakota) rounded out the Top 5 courtesy of an 86.25-point ride on Rising Sun (Dakota Rodeo/Chad Berger/ Clay Struve/ Heald Pro Bulls/ Floyd Bucking Bulls). Lawrence earned 30 world points and $850.   ~ PBR Media
