Federal Lawsuit filed today by writer claims Taylor Sheridan used her idea for Yellowstone, ..... Why now it's been out for years?

From documents obtained by TMZ the lawsuit was filed today in California.
Lauren J. Salkin filed the lawsuit claiming the characters, war over land and more are too similar to the pilot script "sovereign Nation" she submitted to Sheridan's' production company.

Documents claim that in 2016,2017 she sent her pilot script and says he must have read the script because she received a reply "Taylor thanks you very much for your interest. Unfortunately, he's unavailable for TV projects."

Once Yellowstone hit the air waves in 2018, she claims certain plotlines are way to close to her storyline and feels like her ideas were stolen.

Yellowstone has been out for years with many spinoff project so we are all wondering the same thing, why now and not when Yellowstone first aired?

She has filed suit against NBCUniversal, Paramount, and Taylor Sheridan. At this time no one has publicly released a statement.
