RODEO AUSTIN GALA AND YOUTH ART AUCTION ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCED
Rodeo Austin is excited to announce that Jamey Johnson with special guest Lee Ann Womack will headline the 2019 Rodeo Austin Gala and Youth Art Auction.
The annual Rodeo Austin Gala and Youth Art Auction, presented by Texas Mutual Insurance Company, will be held Saturday, February 9, 2019 at the Palmer Events Center. One of Austin’s most phenomenal events, the night will include gourmet food, cocktails, a live and silent auction and live music. This event serves as the largest fundraiser for Rodeo Austin outside of the Fair and Rodeo in March.
Johnson is an eleven-time Grammy-nominated singer-songwriter. His 2008 album, That Lonesome Song, was certified platinum and his 2010 double album, The Guitar Song, received a gold certification. He is one of only a few artists to win two Song of the Year Awards from both the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music. Johnson’s song “In Color” was his first Top Ten Country hit.
Johnson will follow special guest Lee Ann Womack. During her career, Womack has won numerous awards including Best New Female Vocalist from the Academy of Country Music. Her song “I Hope You Dance” won a Grammy for Best Country Song.
Returning to the Rodeo Austin Gala this year is the Youth Art Show and Auction. High School students from across the state will enter their art in four categories – traditional, digital, 3D and photography. The winners will be announced at a reception earlier in the day. During the Gala, the top pieces will be available for purchase in both the silent and live auction. In 2018, the top art pieces sold for more than $78,000.
Early bird pricing for individual Rodeo Austin Gala tickets are priced at $250; tables of 10 are priced between $2,000 and $5,500. Early bird tickets will be available through December 15, 2018 at RodeoAustin.com and include parking, reserved seating, dinner and drinks. Pricing will increase after December 15.
Funds raised at the Rodeo Austin Gala help support Rodeo Austin’s mission of Promoting Youth Education – Preserving Western Heritage. In 2018, Rodeo Austin awarded over $2 million to the youth of Texas. ~ Rodeo Austin Media
