Lachlan Richardson wins his first PBR Velocity Tour event of the season in Salinas, CA
Lachlan Richardson (Gresford,
Australia) went 2-for-2 to win the PBR’s (Professional Bull Riders) Real Time
Pain Relief Velocity Tour sanctioned event Wednesday night at California Rodeo
Salinas at the Salinas Sports Complex.
Richardson started the night with
an 87.5-point ride on Smoothie (Julio Moreno / Dallas Schott), then capped off the victory by
riding Captain Jack (Julio Moreno / Dallas
Schott) for 88.5 points in the championship round.
The Australian earned 80 world points, moving him up
16 spots from No. 61 in the world standings to No. 45, and $10,610.55 for the victory.
Cody
Campbell (Summerville,
Oregon) broke into the Top 40 in the world standings after his second-place
finish in Salinas. Campbell covered Circuit Breaker (Julio Moreno / Dallas Schott) for
86 points in Round 1, before posting 88.5 points on High Razor (Humpz and Hornz) in the championship round.
Campbell is walking away from the event with 50
points toward the world standings and a check for $7,049.48.
Third place went to Ramon De
Lima (Antioch, Brazil). Lima started the night with an 86-point ride on Hell
Pony (Julio Moreno / Dallas
Schott), then covered Blowing Smoke (Humpz and Hornz / Sis & Stan Bucking Bulls) for
84.5 points in the championship round.
Lima also broke into the Top 40 in
the world standings after earning 30 world points. He is also walking away from
Wednesday night with $4,142.48 in
his pocket.
Cody Nance (Paris,
Tennessee) captured a fourth-place finish. Nance started the
championship round tied for eighth after an 83.5-point ride on Barley Pop
(Four Star Rodeo), then
battled back after earning 86 points on Reindiction (Flying U / Cindy Rosser).
The No.15-ranked bull rider took
home 20 points toward the world standings and $2,907.
Cody Teel (Kountze,
Texas), currently No. 13 in the world standings, finished in fifth place after
scoring 83.5 points in both rounds. He first covered Mayhem (Nunes Livestock) then reached 8
seconds on Uncle Fester (Humpz
and Hornz / Sis & Stan Bucking Bulls) in the championship round.
Teel pocketed 15 world points and $1,220.94
for the effort.

Real Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour will next head to Big Sky, Montana, for the
Big Sky PBR July 28-29.
The 2017 Velocity Tour will culminate with the Real
Time Pain Relief Velocity Tour Finals at South Point Arena in Las Vegas on
Oct. 28-30, leading into the PBR’s Built Ford Tough World Finals, Nov.
