Cooper Davis starts the second half of the season on a hot streak!! Tulsa 2016
All
bull riding fans know that hot streaks do not last long and they do not
come too often. It is not closet news, that the PBR last half of the
season kicked off last week and was the first stop to what looks to be a
hot streak for Cooper Davis.
Cooper
kicked off the second half of the season with a big win in Nashville
last weekend, he carried that momentum into Tulsa this weekend. Night
one he shared the round win with Lachlan Richardson tying with 87.75 on
Glory Days. The 15/15 round didn’t go as well for Cooper when he bucked
off Stone Sober the news buzz this morning was a question, if this buck
off would cool off the smoldering hot Cooper.
The
fact is, the buck off seemed to have zero effect on this cool and
collected bull rider. During round 2 Cooper came with his game face on,
his second round win with a dominating 87.25 on Psycho Path from
Frontier Rodeo showed how much his focus was in the right place. Cooper
then turn around and covered his short round bull Machinery Auctions
Little Joe for 86.25, not a round winning score but enough to secure his
second victory in two week.
After
the event The Pepper Stewart Show team had a few minutes to talk to
Cooper and find out what changed over the PBR summer break as well as
what he is doing different. We also asked Cooper what he did different
preparing for Tulsa after a big win the week before.
Cooper
said “I really didn’t do much different, I used the week to recover and
get focused on the next place I have to be.” When asked how much
changes coming off a win and being ready for another test the next week.
“Not much changed I let myself enjoy the win and the atmosphere for a
little bit, as soon as it was over it was time to get my mind right for
this week.”
When
asked about how it feels to be sitting second in the world in true
Cooper style he responded “I don’t look much at those things, it doesn’t
make much difference what the standings say, I don’t take time to see
what’s going on around me with the scores or the other guys. I focus
more on my next step and what I have to do, it makes it easier to just
focus on me”
As
the PBR Built Ford Tough series continues its Midwest swing they head
to Thackerville Oklahoma for next week’s event. With guys like Stormy
Wing showing a spark of energy and Kaique Pacheco holding steady next
week should be a real test to see who else is ready to fire up.
The biggest question will be, can Cooper Davis continue to ride this hot streak and if so where will it land him?
